Advanced CNC Machining (144 hour) Program <br />Scope and Objectives <br />Advanced CNC Machining is offered for students who desire to attain greater <br />proficiency in CNC machining. Mastercam is the CAD/CAM system used to teach <br />students to program multiple -part locations and multiple operations per setup; macro <br />and conditional program statements; and advanced canned cycles. Students are taught to <br />upload and download files to machine stations and other computers. <br />Instruction time is divided between classroom, computer lab, and shop, providing an <br />unusual blend of practical theory and hands-on experience. Students are able to perform <br />complex setups in CNC machining, including CAD/CAM operations upon graduation and <br />may find advance -level work in the machining trade. <br />Program Hours - Program Sequence <br />60 hours lecture + 84 hours lab =144 hours. <br />Program Length <br />Classes are 8 hours on Saturdays for 18 weeks, a total of 144 hours of training or 4.5 <br />hours two nights per week for 16 weeks, a total of 144 hours of training. <br />ETP Requirements <br />Students enrolling through the ETP state funded classes must meet the following criteria: <br />• Must be on company's payroll and employed full-time, working a minimum of 35 hours <br />per week in the machinist trade. <br />• Must earn a minimum wage rate per hour required by ETP. <br />• Students' employers must fill out and sign a Certification Statement (CS) and Retraining <br />Enrollment Agreement form. <br />• Must have basic knowledge of shop mathematics and blue print reading and able to <br />read and write in English. <br />Program Prerequisites <br />Must have completed the CNC Machining class from the NTMA Training Centers. <br />Class Size <br />Maximum 20 trainees <br />Estimated Schedule of Total Charges for the Entire Educational Program <br />Tuition for the program is charged for a 16 or 18 week time period. <br />I.
