<br />PROJECT MANAGER / PRINCIPAL IN CHARGE
<br />Clarence D. Mamuyac, Jr. serves as President/CEO of ELS. He joined ELS in 1983
<br />and brings over 30 years of experience in community, recreation, sports, aquatics,
<br />and education projects to his assignments. Clarence is a national leader in sports
<br />and recreation design, and he has a strong interest in assisting and guiding
<br />complex client groups through a process of workshops and engagement that helps
<br />them achieve clear direction and decision -making power through a transparent,
<br />consensus -based building process. Clarence's portfolio includes award -winning
<br />community design projects for dozens of municipalities throughout California
<br />including Elk Grove, Oakland, Santa Clara, Morgan Hill, and Fremont, as well
<br />as venues for some of the best known schools in the PAC 12 conference — UC
<br />Berkeley, Stanford University, and USC.
<br />Clarence has presented at national conferences for Athletic Business and the
<br />National Intramural and Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA), and he is a
<br />visiting critic for architecture studios for UC Berkeley and California Polytechnic
<br />State University, San Luis Obispo. He is a regular lecturer and panelist at UC
<br />Berkeley, and has been a guest lecturer at the University of San Francisco School
<br />of Management. Clarence has been a return guest on The Modern Architect, a
<br />program of Stanford University's KZSU. As President/CEO, he has led the firm to
<br />a consistent presence over the past several years among the Architect 50, which
<br />ranks the nation's top firms for Design, Sustainability and Business. His work has
<br />been published in Architectural Record, Progressive Architecture, and Architect,
<br />and his projects have been honored by the AIA, Athletic Business, and CPRS.

<br />Steve Rydzon is a Principal at SWA Group in Laguna Beach. Steve is an integral
<br />team member who successfully manages a variety of complex projects through
<br />all phases. His background as an artist, sculptor, photographer, and product
<br />designer, along with his extended education in natural and cultural history, help
<br />inform his designs — and his background in construction and fabrication helps bring
<br />those designs to reality. Steve's design focus is to bring authenticity to projects
<br />through contemporary exploration of a site's cultural and natural history, while a
<br />concentrating on site -specific form and the ephemeral qualities of movement,
<br />growth, light, and shadow. He has managed a wide variety of projects around the
<br />world, from small art installations to multidisciplinary, large-scale civic projects. His
<br />background in landscape construction provides solutions in both the management
<br />and documentation of projects.
