Example Scope of Work
3. Our survey will include an aerial photogrametric mapping of the intersection that will graphically
locate existing topographical features such as sidewalks, walls, tree canopies, striping and utility
appurtenances. This aerial mapping will then be enhanced with the topographical field surveys to
provide a complete and accurate topographical map. The aerial photography will be orthorectified
for use on scalable exhibits as needed.
4. Our survey will also tie out centerline monuments and identify them in the design survey. Locate
any other monuments within the project limits, including those on tops of curbs, sidewalk or in the
parkway. This will allow for an accurate plotting of the road centerline and Right -of -Way.
5. RICK will perform a boundary survey on the adjacent site property to facilitate the preparation of the
right-of-way take legal descriptions and plats for the acquisition process.
6. Our survey crews will provide traffic control, as required, during our survey operations. Lane
closures will be in accordance with City standards and the California MUTCD 2012 Edition.
Deliverables:
• Survey data sheets
• Aerial photo (.pdf format)
• Topographical mapping with right-of-way in Microstation V8
3. Site Visit / Analysis
RICK, along with our subconsultants, will meet at the site to discuss the project collectively.
Recommendations will be developed to improve the design safety, efficiency, sustainability and
aesthetics as well as reduce construction and maintenance costs.
We will then meet with City staff to review the design team's recommendations and discuss the City's
specific areas of concern and priorities with respect to the project's construction budget. Immediately
following this meeting, comprehensive meeting minutes will be prepared and sent to the City and the
rest of the project team.
While at the site, existing sidewalks and pedestrian ramps in the vicinity of the project that will
remain through construction will be checked for damage and current ADA compliance. A record of all
damaged and non -compliant facilities (i.e. cracks, differential settlement, uplift from tree roots, or other
abnormalities) will be prepared. Where feasible, repairs will be added
to the improvement plans. A sign survey will also be conducted and any damaged signs or signs that
don't meet the current standards of the latest MUTCD will be noted.
Deliverables:
• Site visit meeting notes
• Project improvement recommendations
• Potential Conflicts List
4. Geotechnical
The RICK Team geotechnical consultant, Christian Delgadillo with Leighton Group, will provide a
pavement analysis report for the widening of the major street for the designated right turn lane. The
tasks perform for this work include:
• Site Visit and Pavement Surface Condition Assessment
• Field explorations that include two shallow borings (up to 10' in depth).
• Laboratory testing
• Pavement Evaluation and Materials Report
RICK
