Elliott House is architecturally significant as a characteristic example of the gable-and-wing variant of the <br />Minimal Traditional architectural style. This house was originally constructed in 1940, and was valued at approximately <br />$4,000 according to the original building permit. In 1941, the home was purchased by William T. Elliott and his wife Ester May <br />Elliott. William was a business professor at Santa Ana Junior College for many decades and was civically involved in Santa <br />Ana and various clubs and organizations. William was drafted in W orld War II in 1943 and was separated from the Army in <br />August 1945. Ester May Elliott was also involved in local clubs.
