OPEN SPACE ELEMENT <br />SANTA ANA GENERAL PLAN <br />:z <br />W�Wwr <br />Purpose <br />Identifies and preserves open space areas that provide value to the <br />community and enrich the quality of life by providing value in the form of <br />recreation, health, biodiversity, wildlife conservation and aesthetics. <br />Focus <br />• Support creation of Park Master Plan to guide the acquisition, development, maintenance and <br />programming of parks, recreation facilities, trails and open space to meet community needs <br />• Maintaining the goal of reaching 2 acres of public parkland per 1,000 residents <br />• Prioritize the creation and dedication of new public parkland over the collection of impact fees <br />• Create Park Opportunity Fund and Park Foundation to raise monies for park creation <br />
