_ OPEN SPACE ELEMENT <br />SANTA ANA GENERAL PLANnow <br />..� <br />Purpose } <br />Identifies and preserves open space areas that provide value to the <br />community <br />and enrich the quality of <br />life by providing <br />value in the form of <br />recreation, <br />health, biodiversity, wildlife <br />conservation and <br />aesthetics. <br />Focus <br />• Support creation of Park Master Plan to guide the acquisition, development, maintenance and <br />programming of parks, recreation facilities, trails and open space to meet community needs <br />• Maintaining the goal of reaching 2 acres of public parkland per 1,000 residents <br />• Prioritize the creation and dedication of new public parkland over the collection of impact fees <br />• Create Park Opportunity Fund and Park Foundation to raise monies for park creation <br />
