Also address integrity) <br />The Ayers House is architecturally significant as a representative example of a small Craftsman bungalow from the first <br />decade of the twentieth century. It is also important as a contributor to the French Park Historic District. According to earlier <br />research, the house was built for the retired Emmon Ayers. One year later, Charles and Carrie Preston resided in the home, <br />staying for four years. Sylvester and Ida Deck were owners from 1912 until the late 1920s. Mr. Deck, a carpenter, was also <br />the owner of a pool hall located at 412 North Main Street (Marsh, 1998). <br />(See Continuation Sheet 3 of 3.) <br />B11.
