RESUMES <br />RACHEL ISON / ASLA <br />Landscape Designer <br />Rachel Ison is a Southern California native who brings her experiences of living in <br />the region to her work as a landscape designer at BORDER. These experiences <br />influence her approach to research, site analysis and enhance her appreciation for <br />the environments in which she works, <br />Dedicated to developing designs with purpose, Rachel explores a site's history, <br />culture, and position within its context to create a narrative and character that is <br />as unique and fresh as the project itself. <br />Her efforts as project design lead on projects such as Ballona Creek Feasibility <br />Study and Jordan Downs are examples of her commitment to finding the essence <br />of design from context clues and cultural influences. Rachel is a talented designer <br />and uses a keen eye and attention to detail to create thoughtful graphic exhibits <br />and detailed drawings from concept to construction for BORDER. <br />Her focus is on engaging and connecting communities through landscape design <br />while respecting and enhancing the local Flora and fauna. This passion was <br />recognized and rewarded with the honor of an Olmsted Scholarship from the <br />Landscape Architecture Foundation, <br />RELEVANT PROJECT EXPERIENCE <br />BALLONA CREEK FEASIBILITY STUDY / Los Angeles, CA <br />Ballona Creek Feasibility Study included landscape design services and <br />community outreach efforts for storm water management along the Ballona Creek <br />corridor. BORDER led stakeholder meetings and incorporated storm water BMP <br />strategies to manage over 9 acres of storm water collection. <br />EAH MARTEL / West Hollywood, CA <br />EAR Martel, an affordable senior housing project of inviting and engaging <br />courtyard, is built around restorative landscape practices for residents and visitors, <br />including increased pollinators, abundant shade, and gathering spaces. <br />JORDAN DOWNS BRIDGE HOUSING / Los Angeles, CA <br />The newest residential community in Jordan Downs addresses the need for <br />affordable housing and quality outdoor recreation.
