Earvin "Magic" Johnson Recreation Area Community Center <br />Los Angeles, CA <br />Phase IA of the Earvin "Magic' Johnson Recreation Area <br />encompasses a 22-acre core portion of the master planned project <br />and includes a new community center, wedding pavilion, outdoor <br />amphitheater, reflecting pool and splash pad, sculpture garden and <br />civic plaza, group picnic area, restroom building, children's play area, <br />entry gate and kiosk and walking trails. <br />The community center is 20,000 SF, single story structure that houses <br />a multipurpose room, classrooms, restrooms, kitchen, support area <br />for staff and storage, and maintenance/electrical areas. The wedding <br />pavilion is a 1,250 SF single story partially covered structure with <br />garden amenities including arbors and trellises. The 1,500-seat <br />outdoor amphitheater includes, stairs, stepped slabs, and security/ <br />performance lighting systems supports. The reflecting pool and <br />splash pad area includes a linear reflecting pool, entry fountain and <br />children's water play area.
