Implement various <br />strategies using the in -lieu fees generated by AHOCO to <br />provide a wide array of affordable housing options. <br />Goal 3 — Increase opportunities for extremely low-, very low-, low-, <br />and moderate -income individuals and families to find affordable <br />housing, and afford a greater choice of rental and homeownership <br />opportunities. <br />• Policy HE-3.1 <br />Rental Assistance. Provide rental assistance for individuals <br />and families with extremely low-, very low-, and low -incomes <br />with funding from the federal government. <br />• Policy HE-3.2 <br />Homeownership. Expand homeownership opportunities for <br />low- and moderate -income residents and workers in Santa <br />Ana through the provision of financial assistance, education, <br />and collaborative partnerships. <br />Lastly, the in -lieu provisions, are consistent with the Item No. 25 in <br />the City's the Housing Implementation Strategy, within the Housing <br />Element, which outlines the following objective: <br />Item No. 25 — Affordable Housing Opportunity and Creation <br />Ordinance (AHOCO) <br />Collect and leverage in -lieu fees with other sources to support the <br />production and/or rehabilitation of affordable housing for extremely <br />low-, very low-, and low-income families with a goal of funding eight <br />projects for the planning period. <br />Inclusionary Housing Fund <br />Funding for this program is provided using revenues generated <br />through in -lieu fees from the AHOCO.
