CITY COUNCIL 17 03/07/2023 <br />COUNCILMEMBER REQUESTED ITEMS <br />21.Discuss and Consider Directing the City Manager to Direct Staff to Explore the <br />Feasibility of the Conversion of the City of Santa Ana­Owned Parcels within the <br />River View Golf Course to Parkland – Mayor Pro Tem Lopez and Councilmember <br />Hernandez <br />MINUTES: <br />Mayor Pro Tem Lopez spoke regarding the beautification efforts throughout the City and <br />the positive impacts to the community with the conversion of City-owned parcels within <br />the River View Golf Course to a parkland. <br />Councilmember Hernandez spoke regarding the ability of bringing the community <br />together with the conversion and thanked all those in support. <br />Councilmember Penaloza thanked all leadership for their support and spoke regarding <br />funding and in support of the item. <br />Councilmember Vazquez spoke in support of the item. <br />Councilmember Bacerra spoke in support of the item, spoke regarding funding, and <br />thanked all leadership for their support. <br />Councilmember Phan echoed previous comments. <br />Mayor Amezcua spoke in support of the item and thanked all leadership for their support. <br />Councilmember Penaloza requested a resolution be brought back at the first meeting in <br />April. <br />CITY MANAGER COMMENTS <br />MINUTES: City Manager Kristine Ridge announced the National Public Works Week <br />community event on May 20, 2023 11:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M. at the Walnut Water Pump <br />Station. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS <br />AB1234 DISCLOSURE – If the City paid for travel or other expenses this is the time for <br />members of the Council to provide a brief oral report on attendance of any regional board or <br />commission meeting or any conference, meeting or event attended. <br />MINUTES: <br />Councilmember Vazquez announced clean-up and community service efforts. <br />  <br />  <br />City Council 8 – 58 11/7/2023
