Item # 5 <br />Community Development Agency <br />October 17, 2023 <br />Slide 2 <br />Background <br />•On November 18, 2022, the Rent Stabilization and Just <br />Cause Eviction Ordinance (“Ordinance”) was adopted <br />and requires a rental registry where all landlords with <br />rental units must submit registration forms for each rental <br />unit. <br />•Staff has created an online Rental Registry portal for <br />collecting required rental information. <br />•Staff has been working with rental property owners since <br />August 15th to register their units. <br />EXHIBIT 1 <br />  <br />  <br />City Council 38 – 4 11/7/2023
