FY 2023 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant <br />November 21, 2023 <br />Page 2 <br />two projects in support of the Department's commitment to the Community Oriented <br />Policing philosophy to address public safety issues. <br />The first project will focus on targeted crime suppression activities. This project aims <br />to improve and enhance the community's safety with outreach and proactive <br />enforcement efforts to address violent crime and quality of life issues in specific <br />targeted areas throughout the City on an overtime basis. <br />2. The second project will emphasize building community engagement through youth <br />programming. This project will provide funds for the Santa Ana Police Athletic & <br />Activity League (SAPAAL) program, providing additional resources for activities that <br />enhance the bond between kids and cops.
