As I'm sure you are
receiving many messages about the inaccuracies and bias of the resolution itself, I will not address those points specifically and
individually as others have. Rather, I plead with you consider the wellbeing of all residents of Santa Ana, including the Jewish
community who are directly impacted by both Hamas terrorism and rapidly increasing antisemitism in America, including in our
own community. While I do not think it appropriate for any city council to wade so forcefully into foreign policy issues, if the
council does believe it should speak on the war, it should do in consideration of a true peace for all those involved - this requires
demanding an end to the Hamas terror organization rule of Gaza, a terror organization whose leader Yahya Sinwar just today
announced that the massive terrorist assault of October 7th, in which Hamas terrorists murdered, tortured, raped, and kidnapped
thousands of civilians, was just a "dress rehearsal." This terror organization has also cynically used the civilian population as
human shields by waging war from schools, hospitals, mosques, and even children's bedrooms, as has been extensively
documented. In short, should the council it has a place in addressing foreign policy issues that do not apply its jurisdiction,
please do so in consideration of the facts, especially the facts attributed and promulgated by our government through the State
Department, Defense Department, and intelligence agencies. Information readily available from these agencies are in negation
to many claims in the resolution including the claims that Gaza "is one of the most densely populated places on Earth (see CIA
factbook or Wikipedia), that Gaza is "occupied" (See CIA factbook), or that Israel is targeting civilians (see President Biden,
