Copyright <br />Students may not claim personal copyright privileges over files, data or materials developed in the scope of their <br />instructional program, nor may students use copyrighted materials without the permission of the copyright holder. <br />The connections represented by the Internet allow users access to a wide variety of media; students shall not <br />create or maintain archival copies of these materials unless the source indicates that the materials are in the <br />public domain. <br />Consequences of Violations of Acceptable Use Policy <br />The consequences for violating the NOCROP Acceptable Use Policy include but are not limited to one or more <br />of the following: <br />•-Suspension or revocation of ROP network privileges; <br />• Suspension or revocation of Internet access; <br />• Suspension or revocation of computer access; <br />• Suspension or expulsion from the school program; and <br />• Referral to legal authorities for prosecution. <br />III. NETWORK ETIQUETTE AND PRIVACY <br />Students are expected to abide by the generally accepted rules of electronic network etiquette. These include, <br />but are not limited to, the following: <br />t. Users are expected to be polite. They may not send abusive, insulting, harassing, or threatening messages <br />to others. <br />2. Users are expected to use appropriate language; vulgarities or obscenities, libelous language, and/or other <br />inappropriate references will not be tolerated. <br />3. Users shall not reveal their personal addresses or telephone numbers or the addresses or telephone <br />numbers of others during email transmissions. <br />4. Users shall not use the ROP's electronic network in such a manner that would damage, disrupt or prevent <br />the use of the network by other users. This includes the use of streaming audio or video files unless <br />required in specific work -related communication. <br />5. Users should assume that all communications are public. The ROP and school district system <br />administrators may access and read email on a random basis. <br />IV. SECURITY <br />The Governing Board recognizes that security on ROP's electronic network is an extremely high priority. Any <br />intrusion into secure areas by those not permitted such privileges creates a risk for all users of the information <br />system. The account codes and passwords provided to each user are intended for the exclusive use of that <br />person. Any problems that arise from a user sharing his/her password/account are the responsibility of the <br />account holder. Any misuse of an account, including the use of an account by someone other than the registered <br />holder, may result in the suspension or revocation of account privileges. <br />Users are to report immediately any observed abnormality in the system to the classroom instructor or ROP <br />system administrator. <br />V. ACCESS TO SERVICES <br />While the ROP provides access to electronic resources, it makes no warranties, whether expressed or implied, <br />
