Acute Care CNA (*Not Currently Offered) <br />COURSE DESCRIPTION: <br />Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) need experience to be able to obtain employment in the acute care/ <br />hospital setting. The North Orange County ROP Acute Care CNA course is designed as an extension to equip a <br />Certified Nurse Assistant with the necessary basic skills of the CNA in the acute care setting. The course <br />includes focus on medical -surgical nursing, communication, patient assessment, observation, reporting, and <br />reinforcement of Certified Nurse Assistant basic -care procedures. <br />COURSE OUTCOMES & CERTIFICATIONS: <br />Students who successfully complete the Acute Care CNA program will be able to include the knowledge and <br />. <br />experience they obtained along with their CNA to be able to apply to acute care facilities and hospitals. <br />TOTAL COURSE COST: <br />TBD <br />TOTAL PROGRAM HOURS: <br />88 hours <br />CLASS DAYS/TIMES: <br />See current class schedule <br />PREREQUISITES: <br />• Proof of current CNA certification <br />• Valid Social Security card <br />• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers card <br />• Students will be required to pay for, complete, and clear a background check, drug test, and physical <br />examination/lab tests/titers/immunizations <br />MANDATORY ORIENTATION: <br />Students will be sent a welcome email approximately two weeks before the class start date to complete the <br />orientation and to become familiar with the Student Portal. <br />FOR MORE INFORMATION, EMAIL studentportal@nocrop.us or CALL (714) 502-5834 <br />34 <br />
