INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) FUNDAMENTALS <br />COURSE DESCRIPTION: <br />This course is designed as an introduction to a career in Information Technology (IT) support. <br />This course will prepare you to take the IT Fundamentals Certification Exam. <br />Upon completion of this course, you will be able to: <br />• Identify and explain the basics of computing and IT infrastructure. <br />• Set up computer workstations, establish basic network connectivity, and install and use <br />basic software applications. <br />• Explain the functions and types of devices used within a computer system. <br />• Perform computer maintenance and support. <br />• Describe the basic principles of software and database development. <br />• Configure computers and mobile devices to connect to home networks and the Internet. <br />• Identify security issues affecting the use of computers and networks. <br />• Identify and prevent basic security risks. <br />COURSE OUTCOMES AND CERTIFICATION: <br />IT Fundamentals Certification <br />TOTAL COURSE COST: <br />$995 <br />TOTAL PROGRAM HOURS: <br />90 Hours <br />CLASS DAYS/TIMES: <br />See current class schedule <br />PREREQUISITES: <br />Basic computer knowledge including Google & Microsoft programs <br />MANDATORY ORIENTATION: <br />Students must attend a mandatory orientation on a pre -announced date at Room # 9, Trident <br />Education Center, 1800 W.
