6. The Right to Equality Under Islamic Rule <br />A. The Quranic Position on Equality <br />"Indeed, Alldh orders,justice," <br />(The Holy Quran, I6:90) <br />"The believers are brothers (to each. other)" <br />(The Holy Quran, 49:10) <br />B. Prophetic Hadith on Equality Between Muslims <br />The Holy Prophet (pbuh) has stated that: "The life and blood of Muslims are equally <br />precious" [Sunan Ibn Majah, 2684] <br />In another Hadith He has said: "The protection given by all Muslims is equal. Even <br />an ordinary man of them can grant protection to any man" [Sahih al-Bukhari, 6755; <br />Sahih Muslim, 370] <br />C. The Abrahamic-Islamic Position on Classism <br />Islarn considers classism to be one of the greatest crimes and characteristics of the <br />Pharaohs; particularly Seti I and Ramesses II. The Holy Quran states: <br />"He [Pharaoh] had divided his people into different classes, " "And he <br />stippressed one grorcp of therm (at the cost of others)" <br />(The Holy Quran, 28:4). <br />The Pharaohs were the enemies of Allah Almighty, and whom were destroyed by his <br />wrath. <br />16 <br />
