Create comprehensive objective <br />design standards as part of the Zoning <br />Code Update (see program 18) to <br />address the unique needs of <br />residential/mixed-use products and <br />provide a level of development design <br />certainty to the community and <br />developers alike. <br />12/1/2023 <br />The RFP for the Comprehensive Zoning Code Update was released and <br />proposals were due to the City on April 13, 2023. The City formally entered an <br />agreement with a consultant on October 17, 2023 to start the Zoning Code <br />Update. Through the Zoning Code Update, the City will analyze and, if <br />appropriate, update its design standards. <br />19. Building Design <br />Standards <br />B. Develop recommendations for <br />additional resources to support <br />expedited and efficient development <br />project review, such as an applicant <br />guide or additional staffing. <br />12/1/2023 <br />In 2023, PBA made two part-time planning positions available in an effort to <br />expedite review and provide more efficient services at its public counter. <br />Additionally, PBA staff utilized funding secured through Orange County Council <br />of Governments' (OCCOG's) Regional Early Planning Grant (REAP) to augment <br />its ADU review program with consultant services. The consultant hired by <br />OCCOG finalized their work at the end of 2023 and was able to review 131 ADU <br />plans. <br />B-98
