Use caution when opening attachments or links. Hello Mayor and City Council, I would like this comment to be read as I am not able to make the meeting in person tonight but will be joining via Zoom. Agenda item #24 is a blatant attempt to silence political dissent and is only being discussed now, as it pertains to Congressman Lou Correa's failure to listen and respond to constituents on the genocide in Gaza. Congressman Correa does not take meetings on this "issue" and has doubled down on his support for Israel. If we cannot use the political channels to get our views heard and represented, we are forced to take other measures such as protesting outside his home as protestors right now are outside Secretary of State Blinken's Home and Senator Nancy Pelosi's home, demanding them to use their voice to represent the majority of Americans and the City of Santa Ana itself in calling for a ceasefire in Gaza. America was founded on the principle of protest, no taxation without representation. Voting yes to this is siding with public figures who are using their political power to further silence the public that is speaking out against this war on civilians.
