3.15.4 Contract-designated staff employees shall not work on supplemental tasks (AEW) during <br /> regular work hours. If worked during regular hours, additional staff will be required, <br /> contracted work shall not experience any reduction in frequencies or quality. <br /> 3.15.5 Contractor shall establish an identification system for personnel assigned to the facilities, <br /> which clearly indicates to City employees and the public the name of the Contractor. The <br /> identification system shall be furnished at Contractor's expense and may include <br /> appropriate attire and name badges as specified by the City. <br /> 3.15.6 Contractor shall require each of its employees to adhere to basic standards of working <br /> attire, including full uniforms, proper shoes and other gear required by State Safety <br /> Regulations, and proper wearing of clothing. <br /> 3.15.6.1 Employee pants, shirts, jackets, and sweatshirts must be uniform. Shirts, <br /> jackets, and caps used as uniforms shall bear Contractor's identification <br /> logo. <br /> 3.15.6.2 Shirts shall be worn at all times, and shall be buttoned and tucked-in. <br /> 3.15.6.3 No caps with insignias or designs other than Contractor's logo may be worn, <br /> and no caps shall be worn backwards. <br /> 3.15.6.4 The City shall approve Contractor's uniform prior to the start of the Contract. <br /> 3.15.7 The City expects Contractor's staff to turn into CR(s) all items that have been lost or <br /> misplaced by the general public, regardless of perceived value. Contractor shall <br /> communicate this expectation to all employees. All items must be returned to the Tree <br /> Farm (7600 E. Spring Street, 90815) and have an accompanying landscape area ID and <br /> date. <br /> 3.16 Work and Workmanship <br /> Contractor shall thoroughly complete each task in a professional and workmanlike manner, and shall use quality <br /> equipment and materials that comply with all current regulations to complete the scope of work at the proper <br /> standards. The safety of workers, passersby, and the public shall be paramount. <br /> Contractor shall not work or perform any operations, particularly during periods of inclement weather, which may <br /> destroy or damage ground cover, sports, or turf areas. During the periods when inclement weather hinders <br /> normal operations, Contractor shall adjust its work force and schedule. Contractor shall immediately notify the City <br /> when the work force has been removed from the job site due to inclement weather or other reasons. Supervision <br /> and Special Skills <br /> The contractor shall assign a supervisor for the north, south, Civic Center, and Zoo districts, as proposed in the <br /> labor summary, who will be authorized to act on behalf of the Contractor and who will work regular working hours <br /> for the duration of this Contract. He/she shall have at least five(5)years of experience in landscape maintenance <br /> supervision. The contractor, and Contractor's staff, must have horticultural expertise and a broad range of <br /> experience in plant care and maintenance, including California native and southwest-adapted plants,turf <br /> management, entomology, pest control, soils, fertilizers, plant identification, and irrigation system maintenance. <br /> The contractor's supervisor shall be capable of communicating effectively both in written and spoken English and <br /> have experience in park maintenance projects of the type found in the City of Santa Ana. All supervisors and <br /> acting supervisors shall be outfitted by Contractor with a portable personal communication device capable of <br /> transmitting and receiving phone calls from anywhere. The crew leader and/or supervisor needs to be available <br /> during working hours to meet the CR on any given issue at any service location. Should this individual change, <br /> the CR(s) must be notified in writing within five (5) days of the change. <br />
