<br />CITY OF SANTA ANA FY 24/25CIP <br />CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT WORKSHEET <br />PROJECT TITLE:PROJECT DESCRIPTION:PROJECT NEED: <br />Logan/Chepa's Park Redesign This project is Phase 2, Construction of the Logan Center/ Chepa's <br />Park Redesign project. The work to be performed includes the <br />demolishing and reconstruction of a new community center and park <br />site improvements including basketball court, new landscaping, <br />picnic areas, site lighting, new playground equipment and ADA <br />accessible pathways . The new Logan center and site improvements <br />at Chepa’s park will benefit the community by providing an improved <br />facility for recreation programming, community gatherings and daily <br />use of the park site. <br />The park is in and surrounded by low-income households and is <br />identified in the Parks Master Plan as an area of severe need, as it is <br />surrounded by Open space Gap Areas 17, 18, 19, 23 and 24. The <br />existing Logan Center is a converted remnant garage that predates the <br />1970s. The structure is old, worn and does not sufficiently serve the <br />needs of the community.
