The president of the Board being absent the Board elected, Trustee President Pro tom. In Re Tax Levy of 3 c.onts. In Re Citation ~ank Musselman. In Re Moving picture ~IOWC, Iu Re Paving West 5th Street. In Re safe and sane 4th of July. In Re St ate Highway In Re paving ~ast Grubb to act be John Beatty,W A Zimmerman, Mrs. W B Tedford appeared ~efore the Board and asked that a tax levy of $ cents be added to the City Tax Rate. The funds to be devoted to band concerts and advertising. On motion the request was filed for~consideration. . On motion of Alderman seconded by Greenleaf and carrie~, in the matter of the citation to Fra k Musselman to show cause why his restaurant license should not be revoked, in so much that Mueselman has surrendered his restau~a~nt license that the same be accepted. # A co~:~nication from a committee of the W.0.T U com- plaining m~ainst abJeetlonmble femtumes of certain pic- ture shows was on motion and carried,referred back to the comittee for more specific information. # A request form the Orange 0ounty Highway Com~ission that motion be taken to pave West Fifth Street and South Main Street was on motion ordered filed. On motion the City Marshal is instructed to enforce Ordinance relating to sa~e and sane Fourth of ~uly. # Petiton of ! C Marple et al requesting the Board to use their power in making ~hestnut Avenue a part of the State Highway,was on motion ordered filed. # The petition of Wm. Hinning et al petitioning the Board to comn~nce proceedings to ~met ~1~i~ Street from Eailroad track to Oity Limits with S0 foot pavement also gx~vel and oil borders and that F~rs~'h Street be adopted as part of State Highway,was on motion re ferrodback to petitioners. So that that portion asking to have Street a part of State Highway be eliminated. # In Re l~acific Spurgeon St. Tel and Tel Co The request of the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph mpany .for permission to excavate of ~pumgeon Street wa on motion referred to Trustees Grubb and Alderman with power to act.
