H. <br /> <br />~estmoreland,Police Officer. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Protest on Poles <br /> <br />No. Birch Otreet. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Protest unsightly <br /> <br />Lot on W. 5th ~treet. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Bond of U.S. <br /> <br />Cast Iron Pipe Co. <br /> <br />A Communication from the Directors of the Chamber of <br />Commerce, in regards to the purchase by Bond issue or <br />otherwise the thirty and a fraction acres of land <br />known as the old Fair Grounds and controlled by the <br />Chamber of Commerce, was read and on motion of Trusts <br />Killen, secouded by Chapman, the matter was referred <br />to the Board as a Committee of the whole. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Ki]len, seconded by McPhee and <br />carried, the request of G. ~. Nash for permission to <br />install an additional 550 gallon gasoline tank at his <br />place of business, 81V E. 4th Street, was granted un- <br />der the supervision of the Fire Chief. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chapman, duly seconded by McPhee <br />the Robertson Electric Company were granted permissic <br />to ha~E an electric si~n for m. S. nobinson, 111 <br />Spurgeon btreet, under the supervision of the ~lectri <br />Inspector. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee 5'~cPhee, seconded by Killen, D.H. <br /> <br />Westmoreland was appointed a Police Officer for the <br /> <br />City. <br /> <br />A protest signed by a number of property owners on <br />Birch Street between 8th and 10th, asking that the <br />Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Oompany a~d the Sou- <br />thern California ~di~on Compmy be requested to re~ <br />poles from sidewalk and run same along the rear end <br />of lots was read. On motion of Trustee Chapman, dui <br />seconded by Killen, the matter wac referred to the <br />Board as a Committee of the Whole. <br /> <br />A protest signed by a member of property owners and <br />residents on W. 5th against the unsightly condition <br />of a lot near the S.E. Corner of Sth and Bristol Stre <br />and being in possession and control of 0.V. Dart, was <br />read. On motion of Trustee McPhee, duly seconded by <br />Willen and carried , same was referred to the Board <br />as a Committee of the Whole. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Killen, duly seconded by Chapman <br />and carried, the Bead of the U. '~. Cast Iron Pipe & <br />Foundry Company for $15,000.00 with the National Sure. <br />t¥ Company as surety to furnish the City of -%nra Ann <br /> <br /> <br />
