On motion of Trustee resignation of J. was accepted. 0n motion Robert s on Neff, seconded by McPhee ~d carried, Smart as member of t he Library Board of Trustee McPhee, seconded by Neff and carried, Electric Company was granted permission to hang electric sign for Hupp & Guard Drug Store at Bishop & Mai: Sts. under supervision of Electric Inspector, and applicatl of International Electric Company for permission to,hang electric sign at 206 E. 4th St. for Sebestains, was re- ferred to the Electric Inspector to report bask. . On motion of Tr~mtee Neff, seconded by CbXl~em and carried, letter from P~erless Pump Company to final payment on pump furnished Water Department was referred to the W~t er Committee and if satisfactory to him, Clerk instructed to draw warrant covering. On motion of Trustee Neff, seconded by McPhee and carried, invitation from Public Works Committee to attend meeting in Lm Angeles, May ~lst, with ~eference proposed constitu- tional amendments covering gasoline tax, was accepted and the President authorized to appoint Committee to represent the Board of Trustees at meeting: Trustee Neff was appointed to represent Board of Trustees of Saffca Ans. A protest was presented signed by business proprietors in vicinity of Elite Hall protesting against the operation of a roller skating rink at ssid hall during business hour~ On motion of Trustee Collier, se~ nded by Neff a~ d carried President was autl~orized to appoint Committee to investi- gate protest: Trustees Collier and Neff were appointed ss such Cormmit t es. ~ On motien of Trustee McPhee, seconded by Neff and carrie~', matter of ~mp g~ound and lease covering was ~eferred to the Cit~ Attorney for inveltigation and to report back to Board in one wee~.
