285 Board met in regular adjourned session. ~eetlng called to order by President Purinton. Present: Trustees C.H. Chapman, Gao McPhee, E.B.Collier, Stanley E.Goode, F.L.Purinton. Santa Ana, City H~ll August 2~, On motion of Trustee Chapman duly seconded by Collier and carried, the statement from the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company showing the amount of ~ franchise tax under Ordinance No. $4~ to be $~,lgl.ll for the year ending August 19th, 19~8, was accepted and the Clerk ordered to deposit the voucher coveri~g s,~me with the Treasurer. On~otion o~ Trustee Collier, seoanded by Goode and cmrrled, the request of the Robertson Electric Corp., to ha~l~ a sign for the Sherwin-Williams Paint Company at 804 N. Nain Street, was gr~n~ed unde~ the supervisio of the Electric Inspector. On ~otion of Trustee Goode seo~xded by Chapman and ca~ried, the Clerk was instructed to ~raw warrant on the General Fund for the sum of SBiS.~4 in favor of the Municipal Bohr1 Gompany for paving done i~n front of E.ls Street Fire Station. On motion of Trustee Goode seconded by Chapman and car- ried, the Clerk was instructed to draw warrants as fol- lows: $~,848.28 from the E. 1st Street Improvement Bond Fund and $19,500.00 from the General Fund ~s provi d~ed for in Resolution of Intention No. 1SSE, for the paving of East 1st Street from Nain Street to Nabury St The report from the committee appointed at the last Board meeting in reference to a donation towards a purse for the Horse Show during the Fair was heard and on motion of Trustee ~cPhee seconded by Chapman and car tied, the request for a donation was denied. Written protests,showing 89.~%, signed by property owne on the improvement of S. Main Street from 1st to Edinge were presented and on motion of Trustee Goode seoended by NcPhee, the protests were sustained by the followin vote: Ayes: Noes; Absent: Trustees C.H.Ch,~pman, Gao McPhee, E.B.Collier, Stanley E.
