Santa Ana City Hall. <br />October 21st~ <br /> <br />City Council met in regular session. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Rowland. <br /> <br />Present: Trustees Plummet W. Bruns, W.H. Penn, <br /> Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. <br /> <br /> Absent: Trustees Joseph P. Smith. <br /> <br />Minutes of meeting of October ?th were approved <br />as read and the minutes of October l§th to be <br />approved at the next regular meeting. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Application <br /> <br />Menno Lay. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Application <br /> <br />Vernon M. Cox. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Quotation of <br /> <br />Flix Sound Systems. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Report on <br /> <br />Metropolitan Water Dist. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Communication <br /> <br />Chamber of Commerce. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Band at the <br /> <br />Armistice Day Celebration. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the application of Menno Lay for a permit to operate an auto <br />wrecking 'shop at 1732 W. Fifth Street, was referred to the <br />Planning Commission. On recommendation of the Planning Com- <br />mission and on motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and <br />carried, the property at 1732 W. Fifth Street was ordered <br />posted for special uses and the Joint hearing date was set <br />for November 4th, in accordance with the application of Menno <br />Lay to operate an auto wrecking shop at 1732 W. Fifth Street. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton,seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the application of Vernon M. Cox for permission to sell auto <br />accessories and tires at his home 1140 W. Walnut Street, was <br />referred to the Planning Commission for recommendation. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, 'seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the quotation submitted by the Flix Sound Systems to install <br />a public address system in the Mur~cipal Bowl for the total <br /> <br />net price of <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of <br /> <br />$325.00, was referred to the City Auditor. <br /> <br />Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> <br />the report of S. H. Finley, Director of the Metropolitan <br />Water District,relative to Santa Ana's property values for <br />tax purposes and the number of men employed by the District, <br />was received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of T~ustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the communication of the Chamber of Commerce with reference <br />to Santa Ana being represented in all community events in <br />Orange County and entering a float in the Armistice Day <br />Parade in Anaheim, was referred to a committee to investigate <br />and report back at the next regular meeting. Trustees Layto~ <br />Penn, Smith and the City Auditor were appointed as committee. <br /> <br />On moiton of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />the communications of Alfred Bayliss,.O"nairman of Bands for <br />the Armistice Day Celebration, and Leland Auer, Director of <br />the Santa Ana Municipal Band, relative to the Santa Ana Band <br /> <br /> <br />
