Santa Ana City Hall. <br /> <br />December 16th, 1935. 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />City Council met in regular session. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Howland. <br /> <br />Present: Trustees Plummet W. Stuns, Joseph P. Smith, <br />W. H. Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. <br /> <br /> Absent: Trustees None. <br /> <br />Minutes of meetings of December 2nd and 13th were <br />approved as read. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Communication <br /> <br />Leo V. Youngworth; <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Offer of <br /> <br />Walsh - Lindemeyer Co. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Request of <br /> <br />U.S.Dept. of Agriculture. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Stop Signals at <br /> <br />Main & First Sts. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Apportionment <br /> <br />Gas Tax Allocation. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Appointment <br /> <br />G.R. Redfield. <br /> <br /> A communication from Leo V. Youngworth thanking Mayor Rowl~ <br /> for the courtesies and reception extended at the dedication <br /> ceremonies of the City Hall, was read and placed on file. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the communication of Walsh - Lindemeyer ComI~ny submitting <br />the property at the southeast corner of Edinger and Bristol <br />Streets as a possible location for the new Armory and drill <br />ground for the sum of $3800.00, was referred to the Armory <br />Committee. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the request of the United States Department of Agriculture <br />for office space in the City Hall for the Federal Agencies, <br />was referred to the City Auditor for investigation and report <br />back. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the communication of the Division of Highways with Encroach- <br />ment Permit covering the installation and maintenance of <br />automatic Stop and Go signals at the intersection of Main <br />and First Streets, was received and action deferred until <br />approval is obtained for the installation of similar sigmals <br />at Seventeenth and Main Streets and approval of the budget. <br />,, <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the communication from the Department of Public Works with <br />tabulation attached showing the apportionment of the October, <br />1935, payment of the 1/4 cent gas tax allocation under Sec- <br />tion 194 of the Streets and Highways Code for expenditure <br />on Streets of Major Importance for cities, was received and <br />referred to the City Engineer for checking. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn an4 ca?ried, the <br />application of G. R. Hedfield for appointment as a special <br />police officer without pay, was granted on recommendation of <br /> <br />the Police Commissioner. <br /> <br /> <br />
