Fifth Street, was granted as <br />recommended by the Chief of Police and Police Commissioner. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the report of the committee not to enter either the band or <br />float in the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade, January 1st <br />was approved. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the Clerk was instructed to write letters of appreciation <br />to the following for l~nding their support during the dedica- <br />tion of the City Hall: Blanding Nurseries, E. L. Spencer, <br />Nanager of K.R.E.G., James Harding of Chandler~s Furniture <br />and Rodney L. Bacon of the Southern California Edison <br /> <br />,, <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />the application of Gilbert-Weston-Stearns, Inc. for a permit <br />to install an oversize electric sign for the Western Auto <br />Supply Company at 20~ N. Eain Street, was granted on recom- <br />mendation of the committee appointed and under supervision <br />of the Electrical Inspector. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />J. L. LIcBride, City Engineer and Lloyd H. Banks, City Audi- <br />tor, were authorized by the City Council of the City of Santa <br />Ana, to sign as Sponsors Agent and Fiscal Agent, resp~ <br />the following project submitted to the W.P.A.: <br /> <br /> Santiago Creek Project. <br /> Clear site of work. <br /> Excavate flood control channel. <br /> Construct Concrete walls in channel. <br /> Construct Concrete retain~.ng walls in park. <br /> Grade park areas and prepare same for plan~ing and <br /> recreational areas. <br /> Construct roads and parking areas. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "Resolution accepting grant deed from Elbert S. Wade and <br /> Ruth G. Wade" <br /> <br />was read, considered, designated Resolution No. ~45& and <br />passed by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes, Trustees Plummer W. Bruns, Joseph P. Smith, <br /> W. H. Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. <br /> <br />Noes, Trustees None. <br /> <br />Absent, Trustees None. <br /> <br /> <br />
