Rowland. <br /> <br />· Absent: Trustees None. <br /> <br />Minutes of meetings of August 19th and 26th <br /> were approved as read. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Communication <br /> <br />City of San Diego. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Communication <br /> <br />W. Mitchell, City Judge. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Applications <br /> <br />Janitor at City Hall. <br /> <br />Taxicab Drivers. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Layton and cam-tied, <br /> the communication from the Mayor of the City of SanDiego <br /> extending an invitation to hold the 1936 League of Caltfornt <br /> Municipalities Convention in ~anDlego, was received and fil~ <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, the <br />eomm,mlcatlon of W. E. Dixon expressing appreciation for the <br />fair and Just treatment given him in connection wlthf the <br />rental of hie building at Fourth and Van Ness Avenue for a <br />Dance Hall, was received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the oo~unication of Howard I. Wood, Secretary of the Santa <br />Ana S'aamBer of Commerce, requesting the appointment of a <br />special assistant to handle auto parking activities under the <br />direction of the Street Committee of the City Council as <br />recommended by the Auto Parking Committee, was referred to <br />the Street Commissioner. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, the <br />resignation of Milburn G. Max-wey aa a member of the City <br />Planni~ Commission, was accepted with regrets. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, secon~ed~y ~mith and carried, <br />the request of J. G. Mitchell, City Judge, for permission to <br />leave the State for thirty days, beginning September 8th,1935 <br />was g~ante~. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by B~uns and carried, <br />the applications of Edward J. Groth~er and of C. M. Barnes <br />for the positions of Janitor at the new City Hall, were <br />referred to the City Auditor. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, the <br />applloatione of Alvin Ratley and Ira Verblok to drive taxi- <br />cabs, were granted on recommendation of the Taxicab Commissio <br /> <br /> <br />
