Gibson. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the protest with thirteen signatures of residents and <br />owners on North Broadway, against the erection and mainte- <br />nance of a large electric sign at the Wedding Chapel located <br />at 1211 N. Broadway, was referred to the Electrical Inspecto: <br />and City Attorney for investigation and if electric sign is <br />illegal to have it removed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />the communication of Carlyle Dennie, Worshipful Master of <br />Sliver Cord Lodge No. 505, expressing appreciation for the <br />use of Santiago Park for their annual picnic held June 4th <br />and for the assistance given by the Park Superintendent, <br />was received, acknowledged and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn and carried, <br /> <br />~he request of the Santa Fe Trail Transportation Company <br /> the <br />for permission to use the space on/Third Street side of <br /> <br />their ticket office at Third and Main Streets for a pick-up <br />station of passengers and extending the red "no parking" <br />district to twenty-five feet, was referred to the Police <br />Commissioner and Chief for investigation and report back <br />at the meeting to be held June 20th. <br /> <br />Upon recommendation of the Police Commissioner and Chief, <br />James D. Gross was appointed a special police officer withon <br />p'ay as an employee Of the Merchants Police and Protective <br />Service~ on motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and <br />carried. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the spplication of Castillo & Carrillo Company for ~ <br />to operate a second hand store at 2301 S. Main Street, was <br />referred to the Chief of Police and Police Commissioner for <br />investigation. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the application of W. A. Armstrong for a permit to conduct <br />a pool hall at 902 E. Fourth Street, was referred to the <br />Police Commissioner and Chief for investigation. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Taxicab Commission and on motion <br />of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, the <br />tion of R. K. Gibson to drive a taxicab for the Broadw~ <br />Cab Company, was granted. <br /> <br /> <br />
