Bruns, Joseph P. Smith, <br /> W. R. Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. <br /> <br /> Absent: Trustees None. <br /> <br />Each member of the City Council having received a copy <br />of the Minutes, further reading of the Minutes of July <br />18th, 1938, was dispensed with and the Minutes approved <br />on motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Application <br /> <br />John A. Jiles. <br /> <br />Application--Pulliam, <br />Highley & Crawford. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Reso. No. 2578 <br /> <br />Adopting Map on <br /> <br />Abandonment Portion <br /> <br />of Willits Street. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />P~so. No. 2579 <br /> <br />Intention to Abandon <br /> <br />Portion of Willits St. <br /> <br />0ral objections were heard and written petitions favoring <br />application of John A. Jiles,were read. On motion of Trustee <br />Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, the application of <br />John A. Jiles for special use to construct a duplex on the <br />northeast corner of Kilson and Beverly Streets and petitions <br />favoring the application, were referred to the Planning Com- <br />mission for recommendation. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br /> Written protests were read and oral protests were heard <br /> <br />the construction of a church at the southeast corner of Wal- <br />nut and Sycamore Streets. ~n motion of Trustee Smith, secon- <br />dedby Bruns and carried, the application of Pulliam, Highley <br />and Crawford to construct a church at the southeast corner <br />Walnut and Sycamore Streets and the oral protests against the <br />application, were referred back to the Planning Commission. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />~Resolution Adopting Map for the abandonment of a portion o~ <br />Willits Street between the Westerly line of Raitt Street and <br />the Westerly line of Plaza Rancho, was read, considered, <br />designated B~solution No. 2878 and passed by the following <br /> <br />vote: <br /> <br /> A~es~ <br /> <br /> Noes, <br />Absent, <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />Trustees Plummet W. Bruns, Joseph P. Smith, <br />W. H. Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. <br /> <br />Trustees None. <br /> <br />Trustees None. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> <br />the following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, <br />declaring their intention to order the closing up and aban- <br />donment of Willits Street between the Westerly line of Raitt <br />Street and the Westerly line of Plaza Rancho, heretofore <br />dedicated for street purposes to the City of Santa Aha; <br />declaring it to be for the public interest and convenience, <br />and fixing the time and place for hearing objections to said <br />proposed improvement# <br /> <br />was read, considered, designated Resolution No. 2579 and <br /> <br />passed by the following vote: <br /> <br /> A~es, Trustees Plummet W.
