Stovall- <br /> <br />One-hour Parking <br /> <br />801 No. Sycamore St. <br /> <br />Council Chambers <br /> <br />Santa Ana City Hall. <br /> <br />August 29th, 1938. 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Rowland. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee B~uns, seconded by Penn and carried, <br /> communication from California Sewage Works Association extend- <br /> ing invitation to officials to attend Eleventh Annual Fall <br /> Convention to be held at Santa Barbara, Sept. 6th and ?th,1938, <br /> was referred to the Water and Sewer Commissioner. <br /> <br /> . <br /> <br /> On moti~on of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, <br /> communication from The American Legion relative to National <br /> Convention to be held in Los Angeles, Sept. 19th to 22nd Incl. <br /> was referred to heads of the various departments with request <br /> that they cooperate insofar as possible in permitting their <br /> employees who are ex-service men to attend this convention. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, <br /> sugge'sting that payment for necessary reconstruction of outfall <br /> sewer line be made' from Water Dept. funds instead of increasing <br /> the tax rate, was received, acknowledged and filed. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, <br /> communication from Plastering Contractors Association, request- <br /> ing permission to appear at the first City Council meeting in <br /> September for discussion of present plastering permit fees, ws~s <br /> received and referred to the Chairman of the Board. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />application of Abbott Dance Studios to conduct dancing school <br />on Wednesday aft~rnoons at Veteran's Hall, was granted; applica- <br />tion having been approved by Police Commissioner. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />communication from committee representing the Fire Dept, request. <br />lng that arrangaments be made for absence from active duty in <br />their department in accordance with Chapter 535, Statutes of the <br />State of California for 1937, page 1547, was received and <br />referred to the Council as a whole. <br /> <br />On motion, of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br /> <br />request of George W. Stovall for one-hour parking sign to be <br />placed in front of his property at 801 North Sycamore St, was <br />referred to Lieutenant Hershey of the Traffic Dept. for invest- <br />igation and to report back to the Council the result of his <br />findings. <br /> <br /> <br />
