Smith. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Penn and carried, <br /> <br />the petition with 128 names attached, requesting repeal of <br /> <br />Ordinance No. 1054 prohibiting the free distribution of hand- <br /> <br />bills, circulars etc., was referred to the Council as a whole <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, <br /> <br />the application of Alta E. Marshal to erect a duplex on the <br /> <br />northeast corner of McFadden and Cypress Avenue, was referred <br /> <br />to the Planning Commission for consideration. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, <br /> <br />the Clerk was instructed to proceed to open bid for the 'City <br /> <br />of Santa Ana to borrow money on notes to the amount of Fi£ty <br /> <br />Thousand Dollars ($80,000.00), as follows: <br /> <br />Los Angeles, Calif. <br />September 26, 1958. <br /> <br />Honorable City CounCil, <br />City of Santa Aha, <br />California. <br /> <br />Gentlemen: <br /> For the $80,000 par value NOTE of the CITY OF SANTA <br />ANA, as advertised in your regular printed notice of sale, we <br />hereby bid you par and accrued interest to the date of delive <br /> The NOTE above bid for is more particularly des- <br />cribed as follows: <br /> $80,000 par valme NOTE of the CITY OF SANTA A~A, <br />Orange County, California; of the denomination of $80,000; <br />said NOTE to be ~ated as of the day of delivery thereof and <br />to be payable to bearer on or before December 31, 1938 but <br />not prior to December 24, 1938, said NOTE to bear interest <br />at the rate of two per cen~um (2%) per annum; said interest <br />to be computed on the basis of~three hundred and sixty-five <br />(3~) days per year and to be paid at maturity of said NOTE. <br /> The above bid is made with the understanding that <br />~f successful, we shall be furnished at no expense to our- <br />selves, with the satisfactory opinion of our attorneys, <br />approving the legality of the above described NOTE in all <br />respects.
