<br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Penn and carried,

<br />the petition with 128 names attached, requesting repeal of

<br />Ordinance No. 1054 prohibiting the free distribution of hand-

<br />bills, circulars etc., was referred to the Council as a whole
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried,
<br />
<br />the application of Alta E. Marshal to erect a duplex on the
<br />
<br />northeast corner of McFadden and Cypress Avenue, was referred
<br />
<br />to the Planning Commission for consideration.

<br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried,
<br />
<br />the Clerk was instructed to proceed to open bid for the 'City
<br />
<br />of Santa Ana to borrow money on notes to the amount of Fi£ty
<br />
<br />Thousand Dollars ($80,000.00), as follows:

<br />Orange County, California; of the denomination of $80,000;
<br />said NOTE to be ~ated as of the day of delivery thereof and
<br />to be payable to bearer on or before December 31, 1938 but

<br />18th, 19~8, requesting that arrangements be made for absence
<br />
