City Council met in regular session. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Present: Trustees Plummet W. Bruns, Joseph P. Smith, <br /> E. D. Yost, D. W. Eelsey, Fred C. Hall, was referred to the Department of Public safety <br />with power to act. <br /> <br />On motion' of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Yost and carried, <br />the application of Walt S. Elepper for appointment as a spec- <br />ial police officer, was granted during the time of hie employ <br />ment by Gilbert P. Wagner, operator of the Merchants Patrol, <br />and after the application has been approved by the members of <br />the Department of Public ~afety and Chief of Police. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Eelsey and carried, <br />the application of Ernest Scherer for a permit to drive a <br />taxicab for the Broadway Cab Company, was granted on recommen <br />dation of %he Taxicab Commission. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Xost, seconded by Stuns and carried, <br />the applications of electrical contractors to hang electric <br />signs for Stain's Stationery Store at 307 W. 4th Street and <br />W. G. Eeys at 215 E. 6th Street, were granted and ordered <br />hung under supervision of the Electrical Inspector. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Yost, <br />the resignation of Geo. R. <br /> <br />seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> <br />Wells as secretary of the Planning <br /> <br />Commission as of September 30, 1939, was accepted and letter <br /> <br />of appreciation for his pa~ services ordered sent by the Cle~ <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Eeleey and carried, <br />the monthly reports of the various city officers for the <br />month of September, were referred to the Finance Committee. <br />. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Kelsey, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> <br />~e Clerk was~authorl~ed to draw warrants.according to the <br /> <br />~ema~ds audited by the Finance Co.mmittee numbering from <br /> <br /> <br />
