Council Chambers <br /> <br />Santa Ana City Hall. <br /> <br />November 8th, 19~9. <br /> <br />';':30 P.M. <br /> <br />City Council met in regular session. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Present: Trustees Plummet W. Bruns, Joseph P. Smith, <br /> E. D. Yost, D. W. Kelsey, Fred C. Rowland. <br /> <br />Absent: Trustees None. <br /> <br />The Clerk commenced the reading of the Minutes and <br />each member of the City Council having received a <br />copy of the Minutes, further reading of the Minutes <br />of October 16th, 1939, was dispensed with and the <br />Minutes approved on motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded <br />by Keleey and carried. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Zoning--Portion <br /> <br />N. Criddle and attachedmap:was <br />read, On motion of Trustee.Bruns,'~seconded byTcst and Car- <br />ried, the Council recommended that the zone be changed~tc~R-3 <br />Zone on preper~y a~ described on map, facing Flower Street <br />between 6th and 8th Street and the lots fronting on,Sixth <br />Street on both sidesofFlower Street. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Sn motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Yost and carried, <br />the communication of the Huntington Beach News requesting the <br />City of Santa Aha to take space in their Armistice Day issue, <br />was referred to the Chair with power to act. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Yost, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the communication of Mrs. Charles D. Van Wyk, Chairman, of <br />American Legion Auxiliary Quartette, expressing appreciation <br />of the Quartette for the finanacial assistance given to atten <br />the State Convention, was acknowledged, received and filed. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />{he communication of the Planning Commission advising that <br /> <br />W. F. Croddy was elected Secretary of the Planning Commission <br />was received and filed. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Yost, seconded by Bruns andcarried, the <br />application of H. R. Brinkerhoff, Commander of the American <br />Legion, for permission to again use the City Bowl on the <br />night of July 4th, 1940, for presentation of a safe and sane <br />fireworks display, was referred to the Department of Public <br />Ways and City Auditor. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the application of the State Blind Shop of San Diego to con- <br />duct a house to house sales campaign for the purpose of sell- <br />ing products made by blind workmen of the shop, was denied. <br /> <br /> <br />
