On motion of Trustee Smith, <br />seconded by Yost and carried, the Clerk wae instructed to <br />proceed to open bids for the improvement of North Flower <br />Street between Eighth Street and Washington Avenue, as <br /> <br />Sully-Miller CcrZ~acting Co. <br />Wells and Breesler 875.40 <br />Griffith Company ?70.70 <br /> <br />Item 1 Item 2 Item ~ Total <br /> <br /> S22.00 1726.20 3123.60 <br /> 1101.00 2575.10 4246.S0 <br /> <br />A five minute recess was taken by the Council at this time. <br />Council called to order by the Mayor. <br /> <br />· On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Eelsey and carried, <br />the bid of Wells and Bressler being the lowest and best bid <br />submitted, the contract was awarded to Wells and Bressler <br />the improvement of North Flower Street between Eighth Street <br />and Washington Avenue for the total price of $3123.60. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Yost and carried, <br />the Clerk was instructed to return the certified checks of <br />unsuccessful bidders. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Yost, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the application of Arleigh George Meyer to drive a taxicab <br />in the City of Santa Aha, was referred to the Taxicab Commis- <br />sion for investigation. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Yost and carried, <br />the communication of T. S. Hunter, Master of Silver Cord <br /> <br />No. 505, expressing appreciation for the use of Santiago Park <br />for their annual picnic, was received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the request of P. R. Long for use of Birch Park on Sunday <br />afternoon, July 30th, from 2:00 to 4:30 P.M, for the purpose <br />of holding a mass meeting and entertainment sponsored by <br />Townsend Club No. 15, was referred to the Department of Publi <br />Ways and the Park Superintendent with power to act. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Yost and carried, <br />the application of Paul Van Slstlne for permission to hold <br />weekly Junior dances proper~y supervised, on Wednesday <br />at the Open-air Bowling and Badminton Court, 4th and Ross <br /> <br /> <br />
