<br />On recommendation of the Traffic Safety Commission and on motion
<br />of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Cheney and carried, the following
<br />Resolution entitled=
<br /> "Resolution Declaring Stop Intersections"
<br />establishing a stop intersection at Lincoln and Fruit Streets,
<br />was read, considered, designated Resolution No. 3638 and passed
<br />by the following vote:

<br /> describing those portions proposed to be vacated,
<br /> and fixing the time and place for hearing of all
<br /> persons interested in or objecting to the pro-
<br /> posed vacation"

<br />Communication from Pres. Orange COunty Merchant Plumbers' Assoc.,
<br />requesting that changes be made in Section 29 of Ordinances 821
<br />and 1050 namely "owner permit" of Pl,~mbing Code, was read and on
<br />motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Mandy and carried,
<br />communication was received, filed and Chairman authorized to
<br />appoint committee to work with P~umberst Assoc., to make necessar
<br />chan~es in existing Plumbing Code. Chairman appointed Trustees
<br />Chandler and Reed, Building Inspector and Att6rney.on committee.

<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, request
<br />of Santa Ana Area Girl Scout Council for reduction in rent on
<br />premises leased at Community Center, W. Sth St.,was referred to
<br />committee, appointed by Chairman of the Board, with power to act.
<br />Chairman appointed Trustee Chandler and Auditor Martien on
<br />committee.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Cha~ler, seconded by Reed and carried,
<br />request of Business and Professional Women's Club to post club
<br />emblem signs at entrances to. the City was referred to committee
<br />of Trustee Cheney and City Engineer Neighbour with power to act.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried~ map of
<br />Tract No. 1262 was approved provided the lines of Tenth St. be
<br />extended to Pacific Ave. and that statement is made that map
<br />include all street improvements to Pacific Ave. and that the
<br />wording of bond be changed stating that the street improvement
<br />work be extended west to and connecting with Pacific Ave., subject
<br />to approval of Attorney.

<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, the
<br />following named persons were appointed as members of the Civil
<br />Service Board: Ralph Mitchell, term to expire Dec. 31, 1950;
<br />D.G. Jerome, term to expire Dec. 31, 1951 and term of Phil Brown
<br />to expire Dec. 31, 1948.

<br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and carried,
<br />the following Heeolution entitled~
<br /> "Resolution authorizing the condemnation of a
<br /> ~certain parcel of real property for public
<br /> street pttrposes and declaring the public
<br /> necessity of said use of said real property"

<br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried,
<br />map Tract No. 1091 was approved, without bond, covering reversion
<br />to acreage of property shown on the portion of Tract No. 633,
<br />being the northwest corner of 5th and Sullivan Streets.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried, all
<br />requests for purchase of equipment for any department, costing
<br />between $100.00 and $500.00 will require the approval of Juris-
<br />dictional~ Council and any request over $500.00 must have
<br />approval of Council through the Jurisdictional Councilman of
<br />the particular department.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and carried,
<br />request of Fox Laundry Cleaners for loading zone at 612 E. 4th
<br />St., was referred to Street Co-,,issioner and City Engineer for
<br />recommendation.
