On motion of. Trustee Cheney, seconded by Reed and carried, request of A,A.Mandy for a leave of absence for period beginning June 3rd In Re Petition Protesting erection of fence - N.Broadway to June 24th, 1948, inclusive, was granted. A petition was read containing eleven signatures of property owners in the 2300 block North Broadway protesting erection of six foot solid board fence on front property line, facing on Lot 50, Tract 425. On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and carried, matter was referred to committee to investigate and report back at next meeting. Mayor appointed Trustee Chandler, Attorney In Re Appropriate funds drainage ditch south of Santa Aha and Building Inspector on this committee. # Communication was read from City Engineer requesting Council to urge Board of Supervisors to appropriate funds for and begin the work of d,e~ening and enlarging the drainage ditch south of Santa Aha. On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, Mayor was authorized to appoint a committee to contact Board of Supervisors to begin work on this project. Mayor and Trustee In Re Variance Butt Huff to serve on this committee. . On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission granting a variance to Butt Huff, applicable to Tract No. 1262 permitting front yards on the north side of 10th St. to be reduced from 30 ft. to 20 ft. and those on the south side of 10th St., to be reduced from 30 ft In Re Variance Or. Co. Assistance League to 25 ft., was approved and application granted.
