End, 1948, were received, approved and file( <br />Communication was read from City Treast~rer advising that invest- <br />igation revealed that money was available to redeem Blackstone <br />Apartment Bonds and that check in amount of $1~80.37 is being held <br />pending instructions. On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by <br />Cheney and carried, Clerk was directed to forward copy of letter <br />to Chairman Bowers Memorial Museum Board~ and communication from <br />Treasurer was received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, <br />communication from President, Santa Aha Police Benevolent Associat~ <br />requesting that consideration be given to list of prospective <br />members of the Santa Aha Civil Service Commission as designated by <br />Santa Aha City Employees' Association, was received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion $f Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br />resignation of Geo. Parker, as member of the Civil Service <br />Commission, was accepted with ~egrets and Clerk authorized to write <br />letter of appreciation fc~ his services. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Chandler and carried, <br />request of Walter Baker, who is constructing four-unit apartment <br />house at 1Bth and North Patton Streets, for permission to cut the <br />curb for a distance of thirty-five feet on 15th Street was granted <br />with the provision that palm tree is protected. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Cheney and carried, request <br /> of Richard Sibley for permission to conduct public dances at V.F.W, <br /> Hall on Saturdays, was received and filed as temporary permit was <br /> ~ranted October 2nd, 1948. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, request <br /> of E.WjKunzel for permission to conduct public dances on Fridays <br /> and Saturdays, beginning October 9th, 19~8, at 838 East First <br /> Street, was referred to committee for investigation with power to <br /> act.
