Second Street between <br /> R~oadway and Birch Sts., for the sum of $30,000.00 plus any addi- <br /> tional expenses to which the City has been put including appraisal <br /> fees, escrow charges and any other additional expenses incurred in <br /> connection with the purchase of the property. On motion of Trustee <br /> Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, the offer of C. Harold <br /> was accepted with the provision that the purchase~of the property <br /> will make arrangements directly with the architect, and if any <br /> changes are necessary on the preliminary plans which are now in <br /> process on the plans accepted by the Council, to pay the architect <br /> for those changes. This applies to the plans which are now in the <br /> process of completion. Roll Call: Ayes, Trustees, W. J. Cheney, <br /> Courtney R. Chandler, John W. Martin, Jr., Virgil H. Absent, Trustees None. <br /> . <br /> On motion of Trustee Martin, seconded by Reed and carried, the City <br /> Attorney was instructed to draw~ a deed g~anting to C. Harold Hopkin <br /> and Louise Smith Hopkins, husband and wife, the real property des- <br /> cribed as Lots 32, 34 and 'the East 15 feet of Lot 30 of the Park <br /> Tract Addition to~Sahta Ana for the sum of $30,000.00 plus addi- <br /> tional expenses and the City to accept check of $30,000.00 as pa~- <br /> rial payment. <br /> <br /> On motion of T~-ustee Reed, seconded by Martin and carried, Resolu- <br /> tions from the Cities of Anaheim, Fullerton and Garden Grove Sani- <br /> tary District, authorizing additional valve pit between Tank No. <br /> <br />I and No. 2 as an addition to contract work on the site of the <br />present Sewage Treatment Plant, were received and filed. <br />Communication of Gertrude R. Cravath requesting denial of applica- <br />tion to move house from 404 20th Street to a location Just north of <br />her home at 1705 Bush Street, was received and filed on motion of <br />Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler a~d 'carried; application having <br /> <br /> been denied by the Planning Commission. <br /> # <br /> On motion of T~ustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, the <br /> cation of Cou~tney R. Chandler to leave the State during the period <br /> of October 8th to November 15th, 1950, was granted. <br /> <br />Communication was read from the WaterSuperintendent reference pay- <br />ment of water bills as set forth in Ordinance No. 1216 and the <br />hardship it causes on the families of the men in service whose allo' <br />ment is delayed.~ On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler <br />amd carried, the Water Superintendent was authorized to g~ant an <br />extension of sixty days to families whose men are in service. <br /> <br />It was'moved by Trustee Martin, seconded by Reed and carried, that <br /> <br />a committee be appointed to investigate and report at the next <br /> on <br />meeting/the variance application No. 259 of SafewaY Stores Inc. <br /> <br />Trustees Chandler, Cheney and Martin were appointed as the committe <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of T~ustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, the <br />request of The Lions Club of Santa Ana for permission to hold a <br />city-wide broom sale on Saturday, October 21st, was granted provid- <br />ing cleamance is secured from the Police Department. <br /> <br /> <br />
