Council Chambers <br /> <br />Santa Aha City Hall <br /> <br />September 17th, 1945. <br /> <br />7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />City Council met in regular session. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Hoffman. <br /> <br />Present: T~ustees Dale G. Deckert, Otto R. Haan, <br /> W. Eugene Dixon, W. J. Cheney, Asa Hoffman. <br /> <br />Absent: Trustees None. <br /> <br />The Clerk commenced the reading of the Minutes and each <br />member of the City Council having received copies of the <br />Minutes of September 4th, 1948, further reading of the <br />Minutes was dispensed with and approved on motion of <br />Trustee Cheney, seconded by Dixon and carried. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Minutes of <br /> <br />J.O. Sewer Board. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Protest <br /> <br />G.B. McIntosh. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Sale of Tax <br /> <br />Delinquent Property. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Not i fic at ion <br /> <br />Alcoholic Beverages. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Applications <br /> <br />Taxicab Drivers. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Petition for Aid <br /> <br />for Returning <br />Servicemen & Women. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, <br />the Minutes of meeting of Executive Board of the Joint Out- <br />fall Sewer, held in Anaheim, September 6th, 1945, were <br />received, approved and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, <br />the communication of G.B. McIntosh, R.D. 4 Box 706, Santa Ana <br />with reference to disposing of cans and rubbish at the city <br />dump and requesting permit, was referred to the City Engineer <br />to advise Mr. McIntosh that it is impossible to allow the <br />dump to be used for outside use. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br />the Clerk was instructed to advise the County Tax Collector <br />that the City Council consents to the sale at public auction <br />of Lot l0 Block B of Bartletts Addition in Santa Ana. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, <br />the notification of the State <br /> <br />seconded by Cheney and carried, <br />Board of Equalization of alco- <br /> <br />holic beverage application made by Victor M. Walker, <br />Clarence R. Sackerson and Keris E. Sharrock at 1201 N. Main <br />Street, was received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Deckert and carried, <br />applications of Anuai Jack Link, George E. Pierson, Jr., <br />Jtnnie Berkely, Eugene A. Flinn, Anthony ~. Palancl and <br />George Carter for permits to drive taxicabs, were granted and <br />Clerk authorized to issue licenses. <br /> <br />,, <br /> <br />Representatives of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign <br />Wars and Disabled ~merican Veterans appeared before the <br />Council requesting that the City of Santa Aha appropriate <br />the sum of $5,000.00 for the employment of a Director and a <br />stenographer to act through the Orange County Veterans Ser- <br />vice Office to assist returning servicemen and women, and <br />after much discussion a motion was made by Trustee Deckert, <br /> <br /> <br />
