SECTION I. That the p~lic interest and convert* . lance require and it is the intention of the Board of Trus- tees of the City of Santa Aus, California, to order'the con- struction of the following described work and improvement to be made in, on and along a portion of that open public street in said city, commonl~ known as East Fourth Street, and which portion thereof is described as all that portion of East Fourth Street which extends East from the East line of Garfield Street extended Northerly across East Fourth Street to the East line of Lot 7, Block A, Burgess Addition as per map recorded in Boor 13, page 33, ~iscellaneous Rec- ords of Los ;,ngeles County, California, extended Southerly across ~ast Fourth Street e×cep't portion now constructed to line and grade, to-wit: (a) The regradlng of that portion shown on the' plans as requiring a concrete base, to a sub-grade six and one-half (6~) inches below the official grade thereof, and the paving of the above described portion by the conetructl:n on said subgrade of a concrete base five (5) inches thick, an~ the laying thereon of one and one-half (l~) inch asphal. tic wearing surface in accordance with plans and specifica- tions, complete with the furnishing of ali necessary equip- ment, labor and material. (b) The construction, on that portion shown on the plans as req~iring an asphalt top, of a' one and one-half (1~) inch asphalt top in accordance with plans and specifica~ tions, complete to the official grade, and with the f~rnish-i lug of all necessary equipment, labor and material. All of aforesaid work and improvement to be done as shown upon and according to the clans, drawings and cross. sections therefor, accepted and arproved by the Board of Trustees of t~e City of Santa Aha 1923, by Resolution numbered 1143, of the City Engineer of said city, on the Srd day of December and on file in the office and according to the specifications covered in the same Resolution Adopting Plans and on file in the office of the City Clerk, and the same were adopted as the plans, drawings,cross-sections and specl. fications to be followed in making said improvement, and by reference thereto the same are incorporated herein and made a part hereof, and reference is hereby ma~e thereto for a more particular description of said work~ excepting from the work above de~cribed any of sai~ work already done upon said aforedescribed portion of East Fourth Street; excepting fur- ther from ail of t~e above described work the portion thereol which is required by law to be kept in order and repair by any person or company havlrg rail~oad tracks thereon.
