SECTION I. That the public interest and convenience require, and it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of the City of S~ta Ana, California, to order the construction of the following described work and improvement, all within the said City, to-wit: In, on and along the roadways of South ^rtesia Stree from the South line of West First Street to the North line of Myrtle Street, as shown on the map of Tract No. 233; West Wal- nut Street from the East line of South Artesia Street to the East line of Tract No. 407; and West Pine Street from the East line of South Artesia Street to the East lino of Trsct No.407; and where any street or alley intersects or terminates in the above described portions of streets in, on and along which work is to be done or improvement is to be made, then beyond the curb line and across the sidewalk reservations to the property lines thereof. The work and improvement on the above described por- tions of roadways is more particularly described as follows: 1. The grading of all of the above described por- tions of streets to a subgrade five (5) inches below the fin- ished grade, and the construction on said subgrade of a five (8) inch Portland Cement Concrete pavement from curb line to curb line~ and where cross streets or alleys intersect or ter- minate as shown on the plans along said streets, the grading and paving to extend beyond the curb lines and across the side walk reservations to the property lines or extensions thereof; all driveways as shown on the plans are to be paved for their entire width and extending from the street F~e of the curb to the street edge of the sidewalk, or where no sidewalk exists, or is to be constructed, the grading and paving shall extend tc a point five (8) feet from the property lines. 2. The excavation for and the construction of cem~ concrete curb on portions of the above described streets where curbs do not now exist and where shown on the plans to be con- structed. 3. The e~cavation for and tile construction of cement concrete sidewalk, where no sidewalks exist, and as shown on the plans, and reference is hereby made to the plans for a more detailed description of the location of said sidewalE. 4. The excavation for and the construction of stub sewer lines and lateral house connecting sewers, of the materi- als, and at the places where shown in the plans, profiles, cross-sections and specifications hereinafter more fully re- ferred to, and the said sewer shall be constructed in all par- tioutars according to said plans and specifications. Excepting from the work above described any of said work already done to grade on any of the streets hereinabove set forth.
