<br />RESOLUTION OF AWARD
<br />NO. 1847
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Aha did,
<br /> in open session, at an adjourned regular meeting thereof, on the 28th
<br /> day of November, 1527, publicly open, examine and declare all sealed
<br /> proposals or bids for doing the following work, under Resolution of
<br /> Intention No. 183~, in the City of Santa Ana, to-wit:
<br />
<br /> The furnishing, installation and construction of an
<br />ornamental lighting system on Broadway from the North line of Sixth
<br />Street to the South llne of Santa Clara Avenue and Fifteenth Street,
<br />from the East line of Broadway to a line 128 feet EaSt of and paralle
<br />thereto, together with the necessary appurtenances to said lighting
<br />system, including the installation of seventy-nine (79) double light
<br />standards of the type and kind known aa King Ornamental Standard Desi
<br />Drawing No. K-OiV1 complete, inclu~ng concrete foundations, anchor
<br />bolts, potheads, wiring, lamps, globes, canopies, conduits, cables,
<br />and other necessary items to complete the lighting system, inclu~ng
<br />the making of necessary connections to the vault on Fifteenth Street
<br />from ~xlch the system is to be fed, and making the connections
<br />between standards, and the repairing of all curbs, sidewalks, culvert
<br />pavements or other improvements cut or damaged during the const~uctio~
<br />together with such other work and improvement as shown on the plans
<br />and specifications, which shall be considered as incidental to the
<br />above described work and improvement.

<br /> That for the installation of the hereinbefore described
<br />system a patented article will be used and a license agreement betwee
<br />Western Lighting Company, selling agents for King Company and General
<br />Electric Company, patent owner, and the City of Santa Ana is now on
<br />file in the Office of the City Clerk, to which said agreement refer-
<br />ence is hereby made.
<br />
<br /> RESOLVED: That the said City Council hereby rejects all of
<br />said proposals or bids except the next herein mentioned, and hereby
<br />awards the contract for doing said work and improvement to the lowest
<br />responsible bidder, to-wit: WALKER and MARTIN at the price named in
<br />their bid as follows, to-wit:

<br /> Item No. 1. The furnishing and installing along Broadway
<br />from Sixth Street to Santa Clara Avenue and on Fifteenth Street from
<br />Broadway to the t~ams£ormer vault, of all necessary conduits, cables
<br />ground connections, and the making of all necessary connections to
<br />the trana~r~er vault and the repair and replacement of all sidewalk
<br />and pavement, curb etc., complete with the furnishing of all necessar
<br />equipment, labor and material for the sum of Six Thousand Eight
<br />Hundred Forty Dollars ($8,840.00) complete.

<br />of all necessary concrete bases, anchor bolts, ornamental double
<br />light standards, painting of standards, potheads, wiring, lamps, glob
