'347 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF AWARD <br /> NO. 1943 <br /> <br /> V~KEREAS, the City Uouncil of the City of Santa Ana did, in open <br />session, at an adjourned regular meeting thereof, on the 14th day of May, 1928 <br />publicly open, examine and declare all sealed proposals or bids for doing the <br />following work, ~der Resolution of Intention No. 1915, in the City of Santa <br />Ana, to-wit: <br /> <br /> That the portions of streets in the City of Santa Ana upon which <br />work shall be done and improvements made as hereinafter set forth are upon and <br />along those o?en public streets conm~only known as and called Pacific Avenue <br />from the North line of First Street to the South line of Seventh Street; Fifth <br />Street from the East line of Artesia Street to the ~est line of Baker Street; <br />Third Street from the center line of Western Avenue to the center line of <br />Forest Avenue; Second Street from the West line of Western Avenue to a line <br />drawn parallel to and distant 52 feet West of the West line of Baker Street; <br />First Street from the East line of Artesia Street to the West line of Bristol <br />Street; the South half of First Street from the East line of Bristol Street to <br />a line drawn parallel to and distant 50 feet West of the West line of Baker <br />Street; the North half of First Street from the East line of ~ristol Street <br />to a line drawn parallel to and distant 103.5 feet West of the West line of <br />Baker Street; Bristol Street from the South line of First Street to the South <br />line of Fourth Street; excepting therefrom any of said work already done to the <br />official grade, and all as particularly indicated on and in accordance with th~ <br />plans and specifications hereinafter mentioned. <br /> <br /> That the work to be done and improvements to be made upon and along <br />the hereinbefore described portions of said streets in accordance with the <br />plans and specifications therefor on file in the Office of the City Clerk shall <br />be as follows: <br /> <br /> That Pacific Avenue from the Northerly line of First Street to the <br />South line of Seventh Street, excepting therefrmm such port~lons of said Street <br />as are already improved to the official grade, be graded and paved with <br />asphaltic con~rete pavement from curb line to curb line, and where alleys <br />intersect the grading and paving shall extend beyond the curb line to the <br />extended property lines of said Street, all as particularly indicated on and <br />in accordance with the plans and specifications hereinafter mentioned. <br /> <br /> That all driveways upon the hereinbefore described portion of Pacific <br />Avenue be graded and paved with asphaltic concrete pavement for their entire <br />width, and from the Str?et side of the curb to the Street side of the sidewalk, <br />all as particularly indzcated on and in accordance with the plans and spec- <br />iflca~ions hereinafte~ mentioned. <br /> The excavation for and construction of Portland Cement Concrete Curbs <br />upon and along all of the hereinbefore described portions of streets where <br />curbs do not now exist or where replacements are to be made, all as particularl <br />indicated on and in accordance with the plans and specifications hereinafter <br />mentioned. <br /> <br /> The excavation for and construction of Portland Cement Concrete <br />sidewalks upon and along all of the hereinbefore described portions of streets, <br />where sidewalks do not now exist and where replacements are to be made, all as <br />particularly indicated on and in accordance with the plans and specifications <br />hereinafter mentioned. <br /> <br /> Together with such other work or improvements as are noted on the <br />plans or specifications, v~hich shall be considered as incidental to the above <br />described work and improvements, and no addition~ compensation shall be <br />allowed therefor. <br /> <br /> The work to be done as herein set forth shall include the furnish- <br />lng of all labor, eqttfpment and materials necessary for or appurtenant to the <br />construction and completion of all work herein specified. <br /> <br /> RESOLVED: That the said City Council hereby reject all of said <br />proposals or bids except the next herein mentioned, and hereby awards the <br />contract for doing said work and improvement to the lowest responsible Oidder~ <br />to-wit: STEELE FINLEY, at the price named in his bid as follmvs, to-wit: <br /> <br /> Item No. 1. The grading to subgrade and the laying thereon of an <br />Asphaltic Concrete pavement having a total thickness of five (5) inches~ <br />complete with the furnishing of all necessary equipment, labor and material <br />for the sum of Sixteen and 7/10 cents ($0.16~) per square foot. <br /> <br /> Item No. 2. The excavation for and the construction of Portland <br />Cement concrete curbs, complete with the furnishing of all necessary equipment~ <br />labor and material, for the sum of Sixth cents ($0.60) per 1 ~Imear foot. <br /> <br /> Item No. 3. The excavation for and the construction of Portland <br />Cement concrete sidewalks having a total thickness of three and one-half <br />(3-1/2) inches, complete with the furnishing of all necessary equipment, labor <br />and material for the sum of Seventeen and 25/100 cents ($0.1725~ per square <br />foot. <br /> <br /> <br />
