RESOLUTION NO. 1913 <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION 0F THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> SANTA ANA, DECLARING THEIR INTENTION TO CRDER <br /> THE CLOSING UP .AND AB~DONS~NT OF A PORTION OF <br /> SPURGEON STREET, ALSO KN0?~ AS FRENCH STREET, IN <br /> THE CITY OF SANTA ANA; DECLARING IT TO BE FOR THE <br /> PUBLIC INTEREST AND CONVENIENCE; AND FIXING THE <br /> TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS TO SAID PRO- <br /> POSED IMPR 0VE~-%TT. <br /> <br /> The City Council of the City of Santa Aha, pursuant <br />to the provisions of an act of the Legislature of the State of <br />California knov~ as "Street Opening Act of 1889", approved <br />~arch 6, 1889, ~d amendments thereto, do resolve and declare <br /> ! <br />as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the public interest and convenience <br />requires the closing up and abandonment of that portion of <br />Spurgeon Street, also knov~ as French Street, as hereinafter <br />described in the City of Santa Aha, and it is the intention <br />of the City Council of the City ef Santa Ana to order the <br />following portion of Spurgeon Street, also known as French <br />Street, in said City, to be closed up and abandoned, to-wit: <br /> <br /> Beginning at a point in the North line of <br /> Lot Seven (7), Spumgeon Street Tract, as recorded <br /> in Book 6, Page 23, Miscellaneous Maps, Records <br /> of. Orange County, California, said point being <br /> 24.45 feet East of the Northwest corner of said <br /> Lot Seven (7); running thence South 21.88 feet; <br /> thence East 47.60 feet; thence North 21.74 feet; <br /> thence West to the point of beginning. <br /> <br />Ali of which is more clearly shown on a certain map approved <br />and adopted by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana~r <br />said abandonment by Resolution No. 1912 on the 2nd day of <br />April, 1928& <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the said City Council of the City <br />of Santa Aha does further declare that the lot, land or <br />premises affected by the closing up and abandonment of the <br />hereinbefore described portion of Spurgeon Street, also known <br />as French Street, and benefited by said improvement is the <br />parcel of real property descrlb~d as follows, to-wit: <br /> <br /> Lot Seven (7) Spurgeon Street Tract, as <br /> recorded in Book 6, Page 25, Miscellaneous Maps, <br /> Records of Orange County, California. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That the proceedings for the closing up <br />of the aforesaid portion of Spurgeon Street, also knov~ as <br />French Shreet, shall be had and taken under and in accordance <br />with an act of the Legislature of the State of California, <br />designated and l~own as "~tu Act to Provide for Laying Out, <br />Opening, Extending, Widening, Straightening or Closing up in <br />?~ole or in Part of any Street, Square, Lance, Alley, Court <br />or Place within Municipalities; to Condemn and Acquire any and <br />all land and property Necessary or ~,a~v~n~ent fe~ that <br /> <br />Purpose", Approved March 6, 1889, and amendments thereto~ <br /> Section 4. The Street Superintendent shall cause <br /> <br />to be conspicuously posted along the l~ne of said contemplated <br /> <br /> <br />
