192 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF AWARD <br /> NO. 2293 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City o£ Santa Ana did, in open session <br />at a regular meeting thereof, on the 16th day of February, 1931, publicly open, <br />examine and declare all sealed proposals or bids for doing the following work, <br />under Resolution of Intention No. 2280, in the City of Santa Ana, to-wit: <br /> <br /> That the portions of streets in the City of Santa Aha, upon which work <br />shall be done and improvements made as hereinafter set forth shall be upon and <br />along those open public streets commonly known as and called Richland Street <br />from the Westerly line of Flower Street to the Easterly line of Shelton Street <br />and the Westerly half of Flower Street between the Easterly extended Northerly <br />and Southerly lines of Richland Street, excepting therefrom, however, any <br />portions of said streets already improved to the official grade. <br /> <br /> That the work to be done and improvements to be made upon and along the <br />hereinbefore described streets in accordance with the plans and specifications <br />therefor as hereinafter mentioned shall be as follows: <br /> <br /> That Richland Street within the above described limits shall be graded <br />and paved with Portland cement concrete pavement, including driveways; the <br />excavation for and construction of Portland cement cohcrete cur~e along the curb <br />lines of said street; the e~cavation for and construction of Portland cement <br />concrete sidewalks along each side of said street, the excavation for and con- <br />struction of vitrified clay pipe sewer main, vitrified clay pipe house connecting <br />sewers~ together with manholes, flush tank, and all other necessary appurtenances <br />thereto; the excavation for and construction of cast iron pipe water main~ <br />copper pipe water service connections, together with fire hydrants, and all other <br />necessary appurtenances thereto; the excavation for and construction of copper <br />pipe gas main, copper pipe gas service connections, and all other necessary <br />appurtenances thereto; and the removal of all existing trees from property line <br />to property line; all as particularly indicated on and in accordance with the <br />plans and specifications therefor hereinafter mentioned. <br /> <br /> That Flower Street within the above described limits shall be graded <br />and paved with Portland cement concrete pavement; the excavation for and construct <br />ion of portland cement concrete curbs around curb returns; the excavation for <br />~nd construction of Portland cement concrete sidewalks within the landing area; <br />and the removal of existing trees within said portion of said street to be <br />improved; the excavation for and construction of cast iron pipe water main, <br />cooper pipe gas main and all other necessary appurtenances thereto, all as <br />particularly indicated on and in accordance with the plans and specifications <br />hereinafter mentioned. <br /> <br /> Together with such other work and improvements as are noted on the <br />plans and specifications which shall be considered as incidental to the above <br />described work and improvements, and no additional compensation shall be allowed <br />therefor. <br /> <br /> That the work to be done as herein set forth shall include the fur- <br />nishing of all labor, equipment and materials necessary for or appurtenant to the <br />construction and completion of all work herein specified. <br /> <br /> RESOLVED: That the said City Council hereby rejects all of said <br />proposals or 'bids except the next herein mentioned, and hereby awards the con- <br />tract for doing said work and improvement to the lowest responsible bidder, to-wit <br />ED. JOHNSON and SONS, at the prices named in their bid as follows: <br /> <br /> Item No. 1. The grading to a subgrade and the laying thereon of a <br />Portland cement concrete pavement having a total thickness of five (5) inches, <br />complete with the furnishing of all necessary equipment, labor and material for <br />the sum of Seventeen and one-half cents ($0.175) per square foot. <br /> <br /> Item No. 2. The excavation for and the construction of Portland cement <br />concrete curbs, complete with the furnishing of all necessary equipment, labor <br />and material for the sum of forty-eight cents ($0.48) per linear foot. <br /> <br /> Item No. 3. The excavation for and the construction of Portland <br />cement concrete sidewalks having a total thickness of three and one-half (3 1/2) <br />inches, complete with the furnishing of all necessary equipment, labor and materi <br />for the sum of Fourteen and one-half cents ($0.145) per square foot. <br /> <br /> Item No. 4. The excavation for and the construction of Portland <br />cement concrete sidewalks having a total thickness of five (5) inches, complete <br />with the furnishing of all necessary equipment, labor and material for the sum <br />of Nineteen cents(So.19) per square foot. <br /> <br /> Item No. 5. The trenching, furnishing and laying of six (6) inch <br />diameter vitrified clay pipe main sewer, complete with the furnishing of all <br />necessary equipment, labor and material for the stun of One Dollar ($1.00) per <br />linear foot. <br /> <br /> Item No. 6. The trenching, furnishing and laying of four (4) inch <br />diameter vitrified clay pipe house connecting sewers, complete with the furnish- <br />ing of all necessary equipment, labor and material for the sum of Eighty-cents <br />($0.80) per linear foot. <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />
