<br />RESOEUTION CONCERNING TAX-D~:~:RED LANDS AND
<br />REPLACING SAME ON TAX ROLLS.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Section 3897d of the Political Code of the State of California,
<br />
<br /> as amended, provides among other things, that whenever any preper!~y has been deeded
<br /> for delinquent taxes and/or ~assessments to the State of California, and said property
<br /> is subject to a lien which constitutes a deed, under sections 3897.3 and 3897d of the
<br /> Political Code, for delinquent taxes and/or assessments to any municipality, and such
<br /> lien has been in existence for at least five years, the governing body of said
<br /> municipality may enter i~to an agreement with the Board of Supervisors in the County
<br /> in which said property is situated, subject to the approval of the State Controller,
<br /> for the purchase of, or for the option to purchase the property so held by the State,
<br /> or any part or parts thereof; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, all of the 139 lots or parcels of property hereinafter mentioned and
<br /> described in Exhibit "A" dated December 20th, 19S7, hereto attached, are wholly within
<br /> the City limits of the City of Santa Aha, in the County of Orange, State of California,
<br /> and are now delinquent for city taxes and for county taxes, or for public improvement
<br /> assessments of the City of Santa Aha, and further, all of said lots or parcels of land
<br /> hereafter described in Exhibit "A" aforesaid, have been deeded to the State of
<br /> California, for non-payment of County taxes, and are subject to a lien for delinquent
<br /> taxes or assessments of the City of Santa Aha, which has been in existence for at least
<br /> five years, and has not been paid; and which lien constitutes a deed for delinquent
<br /> taxes within the meaning of Sections 3897d and 3897.3 of the Political Cede, and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, there has this day been presented to the City Council of the City
<br /> of Santa Aha a plan dated November 15th, 1937, under which it is expected to return to
<br /> the City tax rolls and to the County tax rolls all that certain real property situated
<br /> in the City of Santa Aha, County of Orange, State of California, and being more part-
<br /> icularly described and set forth in Exhibit "A", dated the 20th day of December, 1937,
<br /> hereto attached and made a part hereof; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, there has also been presmted to the City Council of the City of
<br />Santa Aua, an agreement, a copy of which is annexed and marked Exhibi't "B", dated the
<br />20th day of December, 1937, wherein the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange,
<br />State of California, acting under the authority granted to it by Section 3897d of the
<br />Political Code of the State of California, therein designated as the Seller, and the
<br />City Council of the City of Santa Ana, acting under the authority granted to it by
<br />Sections 3897d and 3897.3 of the Political Code of the State of California, is
<br />designated as the Buyer, wherein the said Buyer agrees, among other things, to purchase
<br />said delinquent tax lots heretofore mentioned and more particularly described in said
<br />agreement, for the sum of $139.00 cash, lawful money of the United States of America,
<br />said agreement, however, to be subject to the approval of the State Controller of said
<br />State, and subject and pursuant in all respects to Sections 3897d~and 3897.3 of the
<br />Political Code of the State of California.

<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Santa Aha
<br />approves the Plan No. l, dated the 15th day of November, 1937, submitted to it for the
<br />purpose of placing s aid delinquent tax property back on the tax rolls of the City of
<br />Santa Aha and the County of Orange, and orders the same to be attached to this
<br />
