RESOLUTION NO. 266V RESOLUTION FOR EXTENSION OF NORTH BROADWAY EASTERLY FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH THE SANTA ANA BOULEVARD TO MAIN STREET IN THE CITY OF SANTA AMA THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, public necessity and convenience require, and it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Santa Aha so to do: THEREFORE, this City Council does hereby declare its intention of extending North Broadway, a street of major importance in the City of Santa Ana, easterly from its intersection with Santa Aha Boulevard to Main Street in said City, and that the proper officers of the City of Santa Aha be and they are hereby directed to take such steps and proceedings as may be necessary to acquire the right of way for such extension, the right of way sO necessary for such extension is hereby declared to be that certain real property described as follows: A portion of Lot I of "Ports, Borden & Sidwell Trac%", as per map recorded in Book 4, page 624, of Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, described as follows, to-wit: A strip of land 60 feet in width, being 30 feet on each side of the following described center:line: Beginning at a point in the cen~er line of Main Street, distant along said center line North 00 45 O0 East, 455.81 feet from the intersection of said center line with the center line of Edgewood Road, as said intersection is shown on map of Tract 139, recorded in Book ll, page 36 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange County; Thence running North 89° 15' 00" West, 498.44 feet. to angle point in State Highway right of way line, The side lines of said 60 £eot strip shall be lengthened or shortened as required to intersect with the State Highway right of way line. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said extension be approved as an addition to the streets of Major Importance within the City of Santa Aha, as provided for in Section 195 of Streets and Highways Code; and that the Department of Public Works of the State of California be requested to approve and agree to such extension. BE IT FURTHER RES0E¥~Lu that the sum of Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00) be allocated out of the sum of $2,800.00 allocated to Project No. 24 in that certain memorandum of agreement for expenditure of one-quarter cent (~) gas tax on streets of major importance in the City of Santa Ana, dated the 5th day of June, 1939, between the City of Santa Ana and the Department of Public Works of the State of California, and said Department of Public Works is hereby requested to change the allocation of said sum of $2Q00,00 from said Project No. 24 to the purchase of the right of way to extend North Broadway easterly to North Main Street, as hereinabove set forth.
